Avoyelles Martial Arts' Goshinjutsu is practical self-defense.  It combines aspects of Kempo, Jujutsu, Judo, Aikijujutsu, and Karate into an efficient martial system.  Our Naishin-Ryu Goshinjutsu is designed for disruptive entries, efficient transitions, and neutralization.

Our Lil' Samurai program introduces martial arts to 4-6 year old children, with focus on memory and stranger / bully prevention.  We teach awareness in scenarios where they may get lost or are confronted by a stranger.  We also introduce breakfalls to them to protect themselves when falling.

Our children's classes are taught age-appropriate striking and throws, while understanding bullying and appropriate times to defend themselves.  We focus on avoiding a fight at all costs, but to protect themselves when they must.

Adult Naishin-Ryu Goshinjutsu is a combat-oriented art.  Lighter, competition versions of techniques are taught to our children's classes to protect both themselves and their opponents, but adult classes are combat-based and full speed.  Adult students are expected to understand physical, social, and legal ramifications of their actions.
